What is Barbershop Harmony?

Barbershop is unaccompanied vocal harmony produced by four voice parts, called tenor, lead, baritone and bass. Any woman of average singing ability with or without vocal training will find a part that fits her range.

Tenor - is the harmony part sung consistently above the lead.

Lead - is the melody.

Baritone - is the harmony part sung just above and below the lead notes.

Bass - is the harmony part below all other parts.
